SFT´s Annual Meeting 2020

Theme: Big Data, Multi Omics and Machine Learning in Toxicology

SFTs annual meeting 2020 will take place 17 April in Gothenburg. In connection to the annual meeting, AstraZeneca invites  all the attendants to a visit to their top modern R&D site in Gothenburg/Mölndal. The visit is planned for Thursday, 16 April.

AstraZeneca Safety and Site visit day 16/4

We have assembled an exciting half day program on Thursday 16/4 were we will give a guided tour and a number of 20 minutes speaks about how AstraZeneca are working with Safety and Drug development from idea to launch and the different roles for toxicologists. The program starts at 13.00 and ends at 18.00 and includes also poster session, coffee break and mingle. Both Master students as well as other SFT members are warmly welcome.

13.15-13.20 - Welcome/introduction (Jan Olsson)

13.20-13.40 - General overview (AZ/depts, drug pipepline, jobs within toxicology) 

13.40-14.00 - A day in the life of a Discovery Safety Scientist/ Specialist  

14.00-14.20 - Setting up in vivo studies for toxicology 

14.20-15.20 - Fika and “The Amazing Journey” demonstrating AZ’s history alongside its key medicines

15.20-15.40 - The role of the Project toxicologists: non-clinical in work, qualify clinical trials in dialogue with the regulatory authorities 

15.40-16.00 - Examples of additional mechanistic safety studies supporting regulatory approval

16.00-16.20 - Safety assessment of New modalities 

16.20-16.40 - Discussion and questions OR Any other non-AZ related toxicology work

SFT Annual meeting and Scientific program 17/4

The topic of the Annual meeting is Big Data, Multi Omics and Maschine Learing in Toxicology. The registration will be opened at 9-10.30 am at the main entrance. The formal annual meeting will be given in Swedish 9.30-10.20. The Keynote Speaker is professor Bob van de Water head  of the Cancer Therapeutics and Drug Safety group at the Division of Drug Discovery & Safety at Leiden University will start the Scientific program 10.30-11.30. The rest of the program will include 5 speeches a´30 minutes, break for lunch, coffee and poster session. Poster sessions will be given both 16/4 as well as 17/4. 3 posters will be selected for a 10 minutes oral presentation. 

If you would like to present your research as a speaker (fitting the topic Big Data, Multi Omics and Machine Learning in Toxicology), please submit an abstract or a short summary of the content and mail it to sft@toxikolog.se at latest 29th of February. 

If you want to present your research or master thesis work as a poster, please submit an abstract or a title and short written summary to sft@toxikolog.se at latest 31st of March. The poster don´t have to fit with the topic as long as it is toxicology. Take the opportunity to share your research or master project with your Swedish colleagues, old poster (max 2 years) may be recycled if you don’t have brand new unpublished data.

SFTs Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting is a well appreciated opportunity to meet colleagues and listen to interesting presentations about recent research and advances in Toxicology. Moreover, it serves a great occasion for networking with colleagues from academia, industry and authorities.

The annual meeting is a yearly event - a full day of interesting presentations and poster sessions.

Each year, a new topic is selected on current research developments and challenges within Toxicology.
