Temat för det vetenskapliga programmet är:
RISKKOMMUNIKATION – Att kommunicera hälsorisker med kemikalier

Både internationella och svenska talare är inbjudna för att belysa hur riskkommunikationen från forskare, myndigheter, journalister m fl fungerar, och hur nya fynd, ”larm” mm uppfattas (riskperception).

Bl a får du höra Paul Slovic, PhD (University of Oregon), som forskat empiriskt om riskkommunikation, och Professor Lynn Frewer (Universitetet i Wageningen) som forskar om kommunikation av livsmedelsrisker.

Utöver dessa två internationella talare blir det många spännande och intressanta presentationer från Svenska experter och forskare.

TRISK – ”Training programme in risk assessment” är ett nytt EU-projekt som syftar till att skapa en modell för riskbedömningsutbildning i Europa som kan ligga till grund för ackreditering som riskbedömare.

Paul Slovic, a founder and President of Decision Research, studies human judgment, decision making, and risk analysis.

He and his colleagues worldwide have developed methods to describe risk perceptions and measure their impacts on individuals, industry, and society.

He publishes extensively and serves as a consultant to industry and government.

Dr. Slovic is a past President of the Society for Risk Analysis and in 1991 received its Distinguished Contribution Award.

In 1993 he received the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the American Psychological Association. In 1995 he received the Outstanding Contribution to Science Award from the Oregon Academy of Science. He has received honorary doctorates from the Stockholm School of Economics (1996) and the University of East Anglia (2005).

Fields of interest:
– Food risk communication, mangement and assessment
– Science and society
– Developing effective communication about food choices and food safety

Lynn is interested in developing collaborations between the natural and social sciences.

Existing research projects which represent transdiciplinary research of this type include within the area of food safety, emerging food risks, food allergy, tracebility and emerging food technologies.
